Everyone knows the rules, but here the winner acts them out: the rock slams down on the scissors, the scissors cut the paper in two, and the paper sails over and covers the rock. How to play

1. Pick an opponentPlay the computer, or create a link and send it to a friend.
2. ChoosePick rock, paper or scissors. Your friend never sees your pick until you have both chosen.
3. Watch the fightRock beats scissors, scissors beat paper, paper beats rock. The same pick is a draw, so go again.
4. Win the matchChoose best of 1, 3, 5 or 7. The first to win most of the rounds takes the match.

Tips from the usta

• Don’t repeat yourself. Mind reader notices quickly.
• After a win, many people play the same move again. Use that.
• After a loss, many people switch to what would have beaten them.
• If you want to beat the computer, try to be truly random. It’s harder than it sounds.
